About the Campaign

"School Lunch — What's on Your Tray?" helps you learn that eating a healthy and nutritious school lunch is essential to help you get the most out of your action-packed day!

Whether it is your literal school lunch tray, or your busy academic and social calendar, what's on your tray says a lot about you! Take the "School Lunch — What's On Your Tray?" personality quiz to find out if you are a social star, busy bee, sports fanatic or just totally chilled-out. You can find out how your school lunch profile stacks up and learn what foods are best to fuel you up and keep you healthy!

The campaign runs from May 2010 to October 2010, culminating during National School Lunch Week, October 11-15, 2010.

The National School Lunch Program has been serving the nation's children for over 60 years.

  • Meals meet standards based on Dietary Guidelines for Americans, meaning they contain no more than 30% of calories from fat, and less than 10% from saturated fat.
  • School lunches provide one-third of the Recommended Dietary Allowances of protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, iron, calcium, and calories.
  • Meals are served in age-appropriate serving sizes meaning you get the amount of food that your body needs!
  • In 180 School Days, 5.2 billion school lunches are served in 99,000 schools. That's approximately 31 million meals per day!
